Harnsberger Will Not Seek Re-Election

Fremont County Treasurer Scott Harnsberger announced today that he will not seek the Republican nomination for Fremont County Treasurer.  Harnsberger has served his sixth and final term as Fremont County’s Treasurer.  He was first appointed to the position in 1992.

“It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve the people of this county, and I am humbled by the support shown me by a lot of folks encouraging me to seek another term, however it is time for me to move on.”  Harnsberger said he is seriously considering seeking the Republican nomination for Commissioner in District #4 currently held by Ray Price.  Price told Harnsberger he will not run.  I believe my 30 years of experience in government finance and accounting will add something beneficial to the Board of County Commissioners”, said Harnsberger.

Harnsberger indicated he will throw his support behind Deputy Treasurer Jim Anderson who will likely run.  “Anderson has the experience, knowledge, and temperament to do a good job.  He will not be a one issue candidate”; said Harnsberger.
